Ramy's Tips for Cleaning Out Your Closet

Starting a new project can be intimidating, especially when it is bound to take up a large chunk of your day. Luckily, this extra down time at home is a great opportunity to (finally) clean out your closet! So take a deep breath, grab a glass of wine, and see below for Ramy's tips on cleaning out your closet.

Take inventory

Be sure to take note of every item you have in your closet so you can separate them into categories. This is also a great way to see if you have any duplicates or similar items that you don't need.

Label your bags

Grab some bags (or boxes) and separate them into 3 sections: Giveaway/Donate, Sell, and Toss.

Set rules

Set rules for yourself to stay on track:

1) If you haven't worn it in a year, then you probably won't wear it again! If it's in good condition, put the item in the donate or sell bag.

2) If the item has holes, worn out elastics, stains or rips that can't be repaired, throw it in the toss bag.

3) As expert organizer Marie Kondo says, "does this item bring you joy?" If an item still sparks excitement in you, keep it!

Have fun with it!

Blast your favorite playlist, pour a glass of wine, and FaceTime a friend to get their opinion. Make it a party!

Look forward

Make room in your closet for new Spring arrivals that you will look forward to wear!
