The Power of a Strong Female Network
To kick off Women's History Month and International Women's Day, Ramy Sharp hosted an in-store panel featuring female entrepreneurs to discuss the power of strong female networks.
Moderated by Fox's Good Day New York host, Rosanna Scotto, the panel featured Tanya Zuckerbrot (MS, RD and Founder of F-Factor), Lesley Vecsler (Founder of Lesley Vescler Communications), and Cristina Cuomo (Editor-in-Chief of The Purist).
Guests enjoyed passed apps, delicious drinks, and of course — shopping! See below for some key takeaways and highlights from the wonderful evening with these inspiring women.
"I would not be where I am today if it wasn't for my friends. Hands down. When I started my business, every friend offered to host a trunk show for me. At one of the trunk shows, I was introduced to a personal shopper at Bergdorf Goodman. 10 years later, here we are! My friends genuinely wanted me to succeed and I'm so grateful for that network we created." - Ramy
"I started my career at a time when women were not getting the stories. It took hard work, making contacts and connections, and always asking for more." - Rosanna
"Wherever you are today does not mean it is where you're going to be tomorrow. If you're in a bad place today, it doesn't mean that you can't be in a good place tomorrow or a year from now. The key to happiness is gratitude. Be thankful for where you are and how you got there and never forget the people that helped you along the way. My mission in life is to inspire each of you to be the best version of yourselves, as F-Factor did for me. " - Tanya
"I'm not afraid to ask anyone anything, and it's gotten me this far with Purist. I've had success in my asks because I'm offering something I really believe in. My mission is pure, and it can only help further each side of business through supporting each other and making connections" - Cristina
"The PR industry has changed so much, it's really about finding unique and creative ways to bring your client's products to the next level. Sometimes it's events, influencers, matching clients with charities, partnerships, etc. It's important to take every meeting you possibly can - you never know who you're going to meet or who they can be connected to." - Lesley
The overall takeaway? ALWAYS SAY YES! Take that meeting, ask that question, and always say yes to every opportunity that presents itself. You never know who you're going to meet, the network you could be introduced to, or the connections that can lead you to success. In the end, women supporting other women can only grow your business.
